Q1: What is your role in TERAO and since when?
Zu Rong:
I am very honored to join TERAO Asia in Q3 Year 2023 as the first person in the establishment of Malaysia branch, in alignment with company’s direction in expanding the establishment throughout SEA. With 6 years of experience in the manufacturing field, industrial and building energy efficiency and sustainability, I consistently work on holistic energy audits and facility setup projects, as well as consistently provide energy efficiency solutions to clients throughout Asia.
Q2: What do you like in your role at TERAO?
Zu Rong:
Being able to work with TERAO gives me the opportunity to work with clients across countries outside my home country Malaysia, as well as working together with colleagues in China, Vietnam, Singapore and Thailand. It’s super exciting for me to work according to different sustainability needs and policies across multiple countries. Not to mention the opportunity to work and travel simultaneously!
Q3: Why did you choose to work at TERAO?
Zu Rong:
It is a dream for me to work with an energy and sustainability consultancy company, with the main aim of providing the best energy and carbon reduction solutions to the market. I have always been passionate about mechanical engineering, electrical and energy efficiency topics since young and wish them to be the main elements of my career. It’s great that TERAO exists and matches my career direction.
Moreover, clients of TERAO are always serious about energy efficiency, and sometimes even challenge my limit in this topic. I still remember last year a client was impressed with my proposed solutions even though they believe their ISO 50001:2018 certified factory is in the most energy-efficient state with no more feasible improvement. Such a compliment drives me forward in exploring more energy saving opportunities in the market via continuous learning and research all these times.
Q4: What is one of your values that is in line with TERAO Values (transparency/commitment/thinking ahead), and why is it a value for you?
Zu Rong:
Commitment, of course! Being able to work efficiently might be important, but it’s even more important to work with perfect quality delivered to my clients. Just drop any problem statement to me, and I’ll pay 110% of my effort to solve it for you with guaranteed satisfaction!
Q5: What is one of your hobbies outside of work?
Zu Rong:
Video games, especially Counter-Strike. If you are one of them, be sure to hit me up!
